Celebration & Special Visits

 Year 6 transition 👨‍🎓-

Over the past two weeks the Year 6 students have been attending a transition program in order to prepare for the transition to secondary school. The students have been involved in a number of exciting activities including working with Bruce Dyer “The first million pound teenage footballer” around Resilience and the 7 steps to being successful. The students have also worked with Junior Jam throughout the visit including learning to play 7 Nation Army, Baby Shark and Twinkle Twinkle little star on the keyboards. Students have also created some stop frame animation using I Pads and worked together to write their own song lyrics before creating a backing track using loops on Garage Band on the IPADS.

11.07.25 saw the final transition event where students created spaghetti marshmallow towers competing to see who could make the tallest tower and also the crate floor is lava challenge where students had to work as part of a team to cross the lava floor.

We look forward to welcoming the students in September when they begin their secondary school journey building a positive future.

🎉 A Special Visit from Bruce Dyer – Inspiring Our Year 6 Transition!

We were honoured to welcome former professional footballer and motivational speaker Bruce Dyer to our school as part of our Year 6 transition programme. His visit was truly inspiring and uplifting for our pupils as they prepare to take the next exciting step into secondary school.

Bruce shared powerful messages about resilience, determination, and believing in yourself – lessons that will stay with our pupils far beyond the classroom. His journey from Premier League footballer to passionate mentor reminded us all of the importance of hard work, self-belief, and staying true to your values.

🙌 A huge thank you to Bruce for taking the time to support and encourage our Year 6 students. His words have helped them feel more confident, motivated, and ready for the future.

We’re excited to see what these amazing young people will achieve next!

As you close this chapter of your school journey, we want to take a moment to celebrate everything you’ve achieved – the hard work, the determination, the friendships, and the resilience you’ve shown along the way.

You've faced challenges with courage, grown in confidence, and created memories that will stay with you for life. Whether you’re moving on to college, apprenticeships, work, or new adventures, we’re incredibly proud of the young adults you've become.

🌟 Well done, congratulations, and thank you for being a part of our school family. Never stop believing in your abilities and chasing your dreams. You’ve already accomplished so much – and the best is yet to come.

Wishing you all the success and happiness in the world!

Visit from Conrad Burdekin

We were delighted to welcome external poet Conrad Burdekin to our school, where he worked with students to explore the power of words and creativity. During his time with us, Conrad guided students in crafting a series of exemplary poems that showcased their imagination, emotional insight, and developing literary skill. The collaborative sessions were both inspiring and empowering, and the resulting work is a testament to the talent and enthusiasm of our young writers. We thank Conrad for his inspiring contribution and look forward to future creative partnerships.

Here are some of the poems class teams created whilst working with Conrad.📚

I get a haircut every couple of days

Gremlins chew me every day

I come from a Forest

Could you try guess what I am?

My cousin keeps running my work

I get closer to death the harder I work

I shrink like a grandma

I love the weekends when the gremlins can’t bother me.
