Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to High Well School. Preparing for Positive Futures.

It is my privilege to welcome you to High Well School.  High Well School is a Local Authority maintained SEND school for both primary and secondary children aged between 9-16 years, but more than that – High Well School is a caring community with children at the heart of all we do.  High Well School is a very special place that is full of energy, warmth and laughter along with a shared aspiration that every pupil should thrive in their own way.

We provide education for children with social and emotional and mental health needs. All pupils on roll have an Educational Health and Care Plan with either a primary or secondary need of SEMH. We are proud of our pupils, every day they amaze us with their achievements and it is our privilege to support them as they grow.

We are equally proud of our staff team, who go above and beyond to make sure every student feels valued, understood and included. Their passion, creativity and commitment shape the welcoming, nurturing environment that makes the High Well community such a positive place to grow. Families and community also play a huge part in our success, and we are grateful for the strong partnerships we build together.

At High Well School we aim to prepare our pupils for Positive Futures.  Our core purpose is to develop both our pupils’ academic as well as their social and emotional skills so that each pupil leaves us ready and equipped for their next stage and knowing how to keep themselves safe, and able to contribute positively to society.

We are committed to enriching our pupils’ lives through positive experiences embedded within an extended curriculum to be successful in the next stage of their lives.

At High Well School, we aim to provide stability and consistency for our community in order to overcome barriers to learning.  We achieve this through supporting and teaching our pupils how to manage and regulate their emotions and feelings, but also by providing an excellent set of outcomes to prepare for the next stage of their lives. Our community commits to the following guiding principles:

  • Be Consistent
  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you require further information or would like to visit us.

Kind regards,

Mark Richardson (Head Teacher)
